I get that Hiller is the experienced guy, and its a divisional game etc, but I go with Ortio. Back to backs, Hiller was junk, and I think a big game from Ortio this week will help the team get their goaltending plan for next season underway.

Does Ortio have all his gear and contacts yet? If so, Ortio. Expecting this poll to be a landslide.

I'd go back to Hiller. He is your starter. You need hum to be the man. Show that you have confidence in him by putting him right back out there. He'll bounce back and have a great game

We need to have some idea if Ortio is able to play at a quality level in the NHL. You'll only get that by allowing him to play. With Ramo being a free agent at the end of the year and the very unlikely chance of him staying, Ortio needs a chance to show his stuff. We might be able to get an asset for Ramo if Ortio plays well.

Has Ramo expressed that he doesn't want to come back? I don't recall hearing this.

How often does a starter really play back-to-back anyways? I'd say it'd be more likely if he had a decent game but given the GA last night, seems like a no brainer to give Joni a shot. If he falls down pretty quick too, Hiller can jump right back in there.

Even if they weren't he still could put up a better performance than Hiller did last night. That was one of the worst performances I have ever seen from two goalies.

I'd go with Ortio and not because of last night. I believe Ortio had a great game against Vancouver last year.
If Hiller does start , I hardly think he will be as bad as last night. Last night was just one of those games when a goaltender is completely off. It happens to every goaltender in the NHL.

I say go with Ortio, he has been playing great hockey on the farm and it is the second of a back to back. He could be the mojo we need to get the monkey off our back in regards to the Canucks.

Man, if Hiller was Kiprusoff, it'd be a no-brainer to put him in the next day after getting shell-shocked...

Ortio. Hiller played last night and didn't play well. On the second night of a back to back the goalie's win % is absolutely terrible. You need to see what you have on Ortio, so you have to give him some tougher starts

Need a win? Get a Finn.
And since Ramo is out, let's go Ortio!

With Hiller and Ortio on one ways next year and Ramo being UFA I'm figuring that the writing is on the wall. Plus we'll likely need the AHL spot occupied by Ortio for Gillies assuming he signs as well.

I'm not sure that Orio would automatically be claimed if he gets sent down at the beginning of next season. And Thiessen is a UFA, which could free up a spot for Gillies.
No comments from Ramo then? Just curious is all.

None that I've heard regarding Ramo, just conjecture on my part. As we saw with Markstrom, if you're a young goalie getting waived, it doesn't matter how good you are, you'll not be getting claimed. I still don't understand how Markstrom snuck through

Ortio, Hiller was a disgrace last game. And has been only so-so the last month or so. I totally understand why Ducks let him go. You can't build a contender around iffy goaltending like that. I'm not sure you can build a playoff contender team around it either.
