Montreal: USA vs Russia - 11 am MT
Should be the match of the day.
Russia has kind of been disappointing so far. By being caught off guard by the Danes and not showing up against the Czechs, they now have to go through 2 medal favorites to reach the finals.
The USA had an okay tournament but were outmatched against the Canadians 5 on 5. Given the depth and talent of the Americans, they should win... at least on paper.
Toronto: Sweden vs Finland - 1pm MT
Sweden easily won their group. Finland struggled in the preliminary round, mainly because of the lack luster offence. Pittsburgh fans must be worried about the struggling Kapanen.
Montreal: Czech vs Slovakia - 3pm MT
Once considered hockey powers, wonder how long until Switzerland is thought of as a better hockey country. On paper the Czechs have a better team.
Toronto: Canada vs Denmark - 6pm MT
Denmark is basically a one line team. If Canada can shut down Bjorkstrand and Ehlers and not give the Danish Dynamic Duo any powerplay time, it should be a cakewalk to take on the winner of Czech or Slovakia.
