Jan 5th: Just 1 game: a west side story
at 6:00pm Mountain it's the Jets and Sharks @ the MTS Centre
Figured since it's the only game on the menu I'd step up and do my Jets chores for y'all.
Hutch gets the start again and it looks like he may be becoming the new #1 goaltender of the Jets.

In other hockey action the Bronze game is between Sweden and Slovakia. Cheering on Slovakia but I'm not sure this thread is for that or this is supposed to be NHL only.

Extra points on this one would be a worst case scenario, but I gotta cheer for the Jets on this one.
How awesome would it be going into a 5 day break outside playoffs, and coming outta it in a wildcard spot.

What makes you so sure of this? The Sharks have not been great this year, and in the competitive West, nothing is a lock.

They are a lock, imo.
They had a ridiculous schedule to start the year.
They will start to pull away soon.

The Sharks are on their seventh power play and have scored on it just once, the Jets have scored two power play goals on three opportunities.

I saw about 20 seconds of this game total, and it was Hirtl getting drilled in the face by a puck while on the bench. Ouch.
Kind of silly of the NHL to schedule a Canadian team home game against the gold medal game, in Canada.
