Tough one to lose considering the standings, but at least it wasn't to a Western Conference opponent

While the Isles did have a very good road game, the Flames can't play good offensive hockey for 3 minutes and expect to win. They have to get their legs moving from puck drop. They literally did nothing offensively tonight until the 3rd and it was in the tiniest of spurts. Gotta be better than that.

Not the worst game but we really need to find a way to generate offence against teams that have the answer for our blue line.

The Islanders size advantage and work ethic paid off night. Flames played a decent game though. No shame in that loss.

Lots of good lessons in this game about 60 minute effort, blowing power play opportunities, etc.

One team played sixty minutes, one didn't. At least Johnny scored! Let's move on to the next game. No sense dwelling on it. I'm sure the coaches will figure out what to do.

5 day break, lots of teams making up games on the Flames in that span. Flames could be a few points out next time they suit up.

Have to give the Isles some credit. They worked hard and played a solid team road game.
Oh, and Tavares is good at hockey.
Flames weren't sharp and seemed to lack energy for large portions of the game. Sloppy passes and some bad decisions. Johnny scoring is some small consolation. Oh well, onto the next one.

Does anyone feel like the Islanders are very similar to the Flames, with the only major difference being a superstar center in Tavares?

Flames were flat and really off their game, but credit to the isles the were in strong position all over the ice. Definitely a team I'd like to see do well this year in the east.

It felt like we were playing a mirror imagine of ourselves, minus Tavares .
Credit where credit is due. Al Arbour would be proud.

Just an off game for the Flames.Passes were off and overall they seemed out of synch. The energy and passion was missing tonight.
All Hiller for the Flames tonight and he made one spectacular save after another to keep them in the game. I love the way Hiller is playing these gays!
