Good. This isn't soccer, we don't need that embarrassing crap in our game. I cringe watching grown men dive.

Gino Reda @GinoRedaTSN
This means Neal had already received a warning from the NHL. The next offence will cost him $3000 As the fines escalate with each offence

Even though 2gs is nothing to these guys, the public shaming will be punishment in itself. I hope to see many more fines like this as time goes by.

Not enough $ but a step in the right direction. All for the public shaming.
Doesn't this mean he got a warning already too?

Diving should be a suspension. Especially for repeat offenders. So sick of seeing it.

I play soccer myself and am a huge fan of the sport. I found it quite funny watching an English Premiership game this past weekend and they had a poll going "is diving a problem in the EPL?". It's been a problem for as long as I can remember! And yes, I hate that side of soccer.
Happy to see the NHL taking a stand.

I think instead of a fine, he should have to do another #AskNeal

as a reminder here is the new NHL policy on diving:
once a coach starts losing money because of a player's antics....

I enjoy the game of soccer as well, but the diving in professional soccer is god awful, blatant, and ruins the game. They should follow suit with the NHL and start publicly shaming the offenders. If they could eliminate the diving, I bet more people would watch it. I know I would.

As do I. I honestly believe that the solution to diving isnt fines or shaming but retroactive suspensions.

The only difference between Neal and a lot of other players is that Neal sucks at diving.
