Mason Raymond on a line with Sean Monahan and David Jones during PP drills at #Flames practice. Expect him to return vs. #Leafs tomorrow.

Baertschi and Ferland in green at #Flames practice. Wonder if Raymond ready. The kids go to Glens Falls later today. #itspossible
  • I would expect Baertschi to be sent down to Adirondack today or tomorrow
  • Ferland likely scratched against Toronto
  • Raymond is really pushing to get back into the line up. he is skating before the main group and also practicing with the main group.

Pat Steinberg @Fan960Steinberg
Colborne will also go on the trip and skate tomorrow. Hartley says he's "very close". #Flames
  • Hartley also said Colborne will join the main group tomorrow

As per Bob Hartley, Jonas Hiller gets the start vs. the Leafs and Mason Raymond is "very likely" for tomorrow's game in Toronto. #CGYvsTOR

Ferland getting scratched? I thought he was awesome against San Jose.

Maybe it'd be best to send down both Baertschi and Ferland at the same time? Just so one doesn't think they played better than the other? Both of them played equal imo.

Can't we just go with 5 lines? The Flames are one of if not the most entertaining team to watch in the league so you'd think the league would step in at some point and let us play all of the players we want.

Are you kidding me? I don't necessarily love Glencross, but he has been playing fantastic hockey as of late.

Raymond back versus the Leafs. What are the chances?

Surprised they've scratched Ferland, maybe they weren't convinced he could play centre and anchor that 3rd line. Plus, for as good as Ferlands been, Granlund has(despite his recent dry spell) shown more production and the former is still stuck on 1 point.

Really pleased Raymond is back, he was in fine goalscoring form before his injury. Hopeful he can hit the ground running against his old team.

So with Ferland out - Raymond in we get softer and really no better at any aspect of the game except speed. Make a trade already.

Maybe we could just bench Bollig in favour of Ferland.

Uh goal scoring? 5 goals and 7 points in 10 games, and most of the team was struggling to score at the time he put up those numbers. I can't wait to get Raymond back.

I like Ferland better than Bollig for the 4th line. I hope he sticks around a little longer, but if he's only going to get 4th line minutes it's better to send him and Baertschi back to Addy to gain some confidence and put up some points the way they're used to doing. Baertschi really needs to get on the score sheet to get his game back to a high level.

Raymond: 7 points in 10 games. Ferland: 1 point in 9 games.

So you'd class Ferland as a better sniper/goalscorer than Raymond?

Thats what they should do. Ferland quite frankly brings more; faster, more skilled and has actually tried to hit people.

That's the change that I would make.

However, it's just one game. Maybe having Ferland watch one will help him.

Also, maybe they are trying to make a decision on Bollig.

Or maybe we are all just over-analyzing things.

Oh and I agree that I'd put Ferland in on the 4th line over Bollig. Yet to see what Bollig adds to that 4th line.

Those goals do not exist in a vacuum, at the time Hudler was not really producing, Monahan was not producing etc. Now they are, Ferland fills a more important role. Raymond is not a top forward just because he started the season on a hot streak.
