Long time Avs beat writer Adrian Dater fired
For social media troubles.
He was suspended for 2 weeks earlier this year:

Then a few days ago a woman named Maria Camacho posted the following screenshots of conversations she had with Dater:

This could be a sad story as there had been signs of mental illness. Or he could have just been a bad, creepy guy.

I dont want to pile on him, because I've been a pretty vocal critic of his for a while. I didnt like his articles but its unfortunate that hes having these problems.

Professionally: Good riddance.
Personally: I hope he finds the proper help and lands in a happier place.

I looked through her account, and saw the exchange quoted by Sureloss, but nothing else by Dater. Did I miss something, or was that the extent of the exchange?

Don't think he bashed CP directly (unless someone mentioned it in comments on his blog, so maybe), but he definitely had a hatred of Dion Phaneuf. He was forced to change at least two blog entries by the Denver Post. His transgressions then were mild compared to his more recent troubles though.

I loosely remember there being a St.Louis Blues writer who had a tiff with CP way back when. This was probably the Turek era or so.

I always found him to be a bit of an ass on Twitter. His articles were hit and miss...while I didt follow him closely, in my random encounters of late it seemed like he was playing with fire. Didn't he just get suspended for a couple weeks as well?
