Default Trouble with Chrome and Flash

So I tried googling this and haven't had any luck with what people have posted. Basically youtube won't work in my Chrome browser. It will load the video, even let me click to different parts of it, but won't actually play it.

I've tried a bunch of different solutions involving the plugins, and flash itself, I also can't get it to work in my Firefox. With firefox it will actually freeze the browser and tell me that Flash Player has stopped working. I also tried uninstalling/reinstalling Flash.

Anyone had problems with this before and/or solved the problem?

Go to chrome://plugins/ and check which Adobe Flash Player is enabled. You should be running this one:

Description: Shockwave Flash 15.0 r0
Version: 15.0.0.239
Location: C:\Program Files (x86)\Google\Chrome\Application\39.0.2171.71\Peppe rFlash\pepflashplayer.dll
Type: PPAPI (out-of-process)

If the other player is enabled, try disabling it. Then close your browser, re-open, and try a youtube clip.

So I have tried this, and just tried again, it still doesn't work. It is weird because it will load up the video, even if there is an ad first it will load that, but just refuse to play it.

In the plugins there is also an Adobe Shockwave Player that I have tried disabling, do you think this is the same thing and/or part of the problem ?

Chrome can get twitchy when there are multiple Flash plugins. I know I've run into it before, usually when Chrome updates but Flash doesn't, or vice versa.

Did you try disabling the PepperFlash plugin and just enabling the second Flash plugin (the NPAPI one)?

If none of that works, I would try uninstalling Flash and Chrome, rebooting, then reinstalling Chrome.

I completely removed everything, did a system restore to earlier today and it appears to be working now.

I have a logitech set of speakers/sub and I installed their software earlier, this must have set things off somehow.

The speakers work without the software, I just can't adjust any of the settings or the volume.. lol

So weird. Maybe I just blanket clicked next and it did some kind of over ride on something I shouldn't have.

Very strange. Glad it's working now - but that's crazy you had to do a system restore. Good ole Windows.
