I have a Flames team-autographed jersey from the great run and I want to get it framed along with a "Western Conference Champions" label, etc. Any recommendations? I've gone to a few "framing" places already but just curious to see if anybody out there has had any experiences with this, prices I can expect, etc.

Thanks for the help.

Cost effective solution:
Feel free to give me a call sometime, I frame for a living. We can gear something up with 2x4's and plywood. Won't cost you a dime, except you might want to invest in some lacquer so the grain of the wood gets accentuated.

sorry, couldn't resist.

I did my jersey at framing and art center (I believe that the name, they're all over calgary) my final price was $420 but that was after a deal (it was $500+ regular). I went to michaels because they had a 50% off deal and were going to charge me over $1600 dollar and for the very basics ($800+ even after the deal).

Getting a jersey frame from Michaels is a big rip-off. (Unless you like your jersey sewn into the backboard of the frame)

What I have been doing is buying a 'shadow box' (48x36?) from Michaels. It fits a coat hanger if you rip off the hook and fits jerseys up to sizes XL. The only problem is that the varnish could be a nicer colour but it isn't too bad considering it is about $160 or so. I think they look better because there is some depth to the jersey. (almost similar to that of the ones sold at Costco for $300)

[B]Edit: I forgot to add, XL jerseys may need a bit of patience to hang up in a shadow box as it may shift during the time you put it into the box and onto the wall

Thanks for the feedback! Ya, I was mulling over getting a shadowbox as well. Still undecided how I'm going to proceed. Don't really want to spend more than $300-$400. I'm definitely going to get this sorted before the season starts so I can show my pimp'n jersey off when people come over to watch games.

A guy I work with does framing of pictures, jerseys etc. He's actually done some work with the Calgary Flames. Anyway, if you are interested, leave me a message.

Costco sells a jersey display case, sort of like a fancy frame, for $250. There is also a place across from SAIT main campus that does framing for jerseys, right next to the Japanese/Korean BBQ place
