Default Bob Hartley for Jack Adams, too soon?

With his ballsy pull with just under 4minutes left in the third, his management of the kids, his line matchups and pairings and finally , the no quit he has instilled in this team.

Is he the early front runner for the Jack Adams?

It would be unanimous if the vote was done today

I have to think he is the early leader. I have said it before... If Hartely gets this group of players to playoffs, they won't need to nominate anybody else.

There's a quote from somebody that says something along the lines of "A coaches job is the toughest when the team is winning"

These comebacks are damned fun, but the trend of being outplayed for more than half the game needs to stop. I say trend, because good teams find ways to win even when their game isn't up to snuff. But the Flames' play has been trending down a bit. Other teams are starting to get their games together and are starting the equalize the Flames' hard work and youthful enthusiasm.

To me this next part of the season is crunch time. The team needs to get a bit healthier and take its game to another level.

If Hartley can get this bunch to find another gear, he should be the runaway favorite.

If we make the playoffs, he's a lock. But he should get some votes no matter what the result.

They better hurry up and get that extension signed, or the price is going through the roof.

Mr. Hartley's gaining leverage with every 3rd period win.

I like where your head's at, but too soon.

He's done wonders with this squad.

Waaaaaay to early. 60 games left in season. Don't eat the crayons while you are drawing out the Stanley Cup parade route.

Sa226, Completely agree. It sure will be interesting to see if the guys that are coming back from injury mold back into the group and potentially take the team to the next level.

But yeah... He needs a new contract ASAP...

It would make for a great Christmas gift to fans and for the Hartley household.

Crazy to think we could win 3 major awards if things continue:
-Hartley for Jack Adams
-Gio for Norris (and maybe even Hart)
-Johnny for Calder

If the Flames make the playoffs, he'll be uncontested. Also in that scenario Giordano would almost be guaranteed the Norris, simply because to make the playoffs the Flames would need him to maintain that level of play. Gaudrau for Calder though I just don't see unless he gets on a real tear, that award is based on points more than anything else

This is why, despite having good success with so many kids in the lineup, we need guys like Raymond, Backlund, Colborne, Stajan and to a lesser extent Jones, back from injury. The young guys are playing with a lot of youthful exuberance and passion but they will likely start to hit a wall, whether it be opposing players no longer taking them lightly or fatigue. As much as it sucks to send Ferland, Baerstchi, Knight and especially Granlund back to the farm, we need our established guys back. However, I wouldn't be upset if Treliving made a trade to open a spot. Granlund has very quietly done a phenomenal job. He might not have the defensive acumen that Backlund has yet, but he is an NHL player, no question. I wouldn't be opposed to a Backlund trade to get a solid Dman.

If the voting was held today, yes. He's definitely the front runner, but let's remember there is 75% of the season left.
