They'll probably worry about that if it ever happens.

Robak is a solid depth defenseman. 6'3", 200 lbs. Plays with a bit of a physical edge. He's been up and down with the Panthers the last few years and is only 24 years old.

Blacker is a guy they'd rather have as they need more offensive defensemen in the organization. He's also decently sized and can play with some physicality. Panthers also get a conditional pick in the deal. Conditional on what? What's the pick?

I really like Robak, and am sorry to see him go. It looks like Petrovic is ready to make the jump soon, so Robak was expendable. It helps that the Panthers have a few really good defense prospects coming down the pipe in a year or two.

per the Ducks press release:
Quote:
The conditional draft pick could either be a fourth round pick in 2016, or sixth round selection in 2017.
no word on what the conditions are

Blacker was on waivers earlier this season.

I was hoping the Panthers would have exposed Robak to waivers so the Flames could have claimed him at the start of the season.

I'd imagine it's conditional on whether Robak re-signs or not because I'm pretty sure his current deal runs out at the end of the season. Would be surprised if it's a performance related condition(games played, points scored etc).

He's definitely better than both Engelland and Diaz, and much more mobile than Smid. Would have been a nice fit.

I doubt it would be conditional on him re-signing. He is RFA at the end of the season, so the Ducks will retain his rights as long as they qualify him.

The Ducks when they traded Holland to the Leafs there was a conditional 3rd that turned into a 2nd if Holland played more than 25 games.

Something along those lines I would imagine.

yup the condition is based on how many games Robak will play this season:

Eric Stephens @icemancometh
Ducks could give up a fourth in 2016 or sixth in 2017 depending on how many games Robak plays for them this season.

Fair enough. Didn't factor in him being an RFA. Does it say anywhere how many games that needs to be?
