Top 10 Dot-Com Flops

C|NET takes us on a trip down the not so distant memory lane of the late '90s with their list of the Top 10 Dot-Com flops.

This list is filled with a number of entries that seem like a really good idea (I know I'd love to have groceries delivered), as well as a number that had me shaking my head -- Flooz? An online pet store?

Anyone have a favorite flop that didn't make the list?

Actually, you can get groceries delivered. Co-op does deliveries.

While not really flops on this magnitude, I simply cant recal how many different message boards I have posted on in the past that fell by the wayside when the dot.com crash hit and when banner ad revenues plummeted. fastball.com, baseballboards/hockeyboards (ultimately swallowed by scout.com, which in itself is a rebirth of another failure which was a rebirth of a previous failure), etc.

Independent content sites and message boards took a hit when ad rates floored.

Incidentally, the other top ten lists on c-net are pretty cool too.

Amazing to think that the Playstation exists only because Sony and Nintendo stopped thier joint production of a CD console system over some contract legalese.
