They need to start suspending guys for longer (especially on headshots). Obviously these 1-5 game suspensions aren't getting the point across.

I loved Ference as a Flame, but now that I don't have my homer glasses on, I'm starting to see just how dirty of a player he is.

There was no need for him to put the arm up.

If he kept the shoulder down and drove right into the chest/body of Kassian like he was initially doing, he would have destroyed him still.

Unless the Oilers are bringing someone else up, that will give Hunt three games respite. They would otherwise only have five defencemen.

Ference has been pretty bad for the Oilers. They may be better off with him out of the lineup.

Honestly I hate Kassian but that was one of the dirtiest head shots of the last few years IMO. Everything about it was wrong. Surprised he didn't get more.

This is the captain of the Oilers. Our captain thought he caught someone in a vulnerable position a few games ago, eased off and put his hands up in apology right away. And it wasn't even dirty.

Just another reckless play, they need to start handing up bigger penalties.

It was a bad hit, but lets not go overboard. That wasn't even one of the dirtiest head shots in the last week.

Just my opinion, maybe I haven't seen too many of the others. IMO it's the worst I've seen in a long time.

Good thing he only has another 3 years left on his deal. Great contract.

Pretty sure it's still a thing in the CBA that if you don't have a disciplinary incident in an 18 month timeframe the player in question does not have their previous history taken into account.

Not sure why they mention the history in the video though.

i was thinking the same thing, this might work out as "addition thru subtraction", until i saw his replacement may be Aulie

Oilers suck.

Was he always this bad? I don't remember too much occuring until he arrived in Edmonton.

Granted I didn't watch too many Boston games save for the odd few.

Ference always played with a little bit of snark to him when he was here.

But he's become a real cheap shot artist since he got to Edmonton.

Maybe deep down he knows that suspensions are like vacations, a chance to get out of the suck.
