Default Set Top Box - No HDMI

I would like to get my mom a set top box so she can watch Netflix and video files (I will supply them). I was thinking something like a Roku would be perfect. Problem is her TV doesn't have an HDMI input...the only HD input is component. Of course almost everything is HDMI nowadays.

Monoprice has HDMI to component converters but as far as I can tell they input component and output HDMI. I need the reverse of that.

The Roku 1 & 2 have VGA, but I gotta imagine that will look bad.

New TV or A/V Receiver. She won't buy that.

Xbox 360. Can do component and IR. But more expensive (new) and complicated than a Roku.

Any other options?

There's this but it is not cheap. I checked to see if I had some kicking around the shop but I cannot track any down.

Or some stuff on ebay. http://www.ebay.com/itm/HDMI-to-YPbP...-/321488771557

Maybe find an older DVD player with component out and wifi? Sony was one of the last manufacturers that still put component out on their players, though there are others.

Found this one , for example.

The Roku 1 and 2 both output RCA so I wouldn't I need a converter, but thanks for the offer.

How bad would RCA look?

RCA maxes out at 480p, so it would look pretty mediocre compared to the Component if the TV can output 1080i. If you're only using TV speakers the audio would be more or less the same.

I used the roku 2 with component and it was fine, but there is a difference when i used my ps4 with hdmi but her tv is not that great anyways i don't think it is going to be worse than what she is watching now. Why not be a good son and get her a new tv as well?.

Is it an older roku 2? The newer ones only have RCA (red, yellow, white) and HDMI. Her TV is HD, it's just older and doesn't have an HDMI port.
