I didn't see this coming but I guess he's hoping he will eventually get an NHL contract

Good on him.

Its a good way to grow the sport in countries where its not popular. Having a ex-Nhler dominating the league (even if he was only a 4th liner here) raises the standard . Fans expect more , kids start idolizing hockey players, Etc ...

Wish him the best. I hope he keeps the tweets up. Some of those are pure gold in hilarity.

I bet he's just as "dominating" as he ever was in the NHL.

He played for Cardiff for 10 games during the last lockout and scored 19 points, with only 8 PIM. It's not exactly an elite league.

I'd take that bet, he played there for 11 games during the lockout and had 21 pts.

I agree that the league sucks, but it is actually named the Elite League, so...

I was going to say, ironically it is the Elite League... the Elite Ice Hockey League (EIHL).

Yeah, as stated previously, he was getting major point production on the team during the lockout and even dropped back to defence and was their QB on the PP apparently (according to my friend he really did dominate). A couple of other British teams reached out to him but he got in touch with Cardiff about coming back.

Really good to see him playing there as it should give UK fans a kick.

Not in the uk he won't be. He'll be lucky if he's making £25-30k.

Cardiff says his contract has been cancelled because he has accepted an AHL contract

Cardiff Devils @cardiffdevils
Devils News: Bissonnette Deal is Off due to AHL offer, but Biz will always be welcome in Cardiff.

He's likely hoping he'll get a call up from the Coyotes and then eventually get a one way contract with them. This makes more sense than playing in Europe

The guy has made $5.25MM in his NHL career, I would suggest he's not too worried about money at this point.

What team did he accept a contract from? San Antonio? Chicago Wolves?

I followed him on Instagram for awhile.

If I was a betting man, I'd say he spent at least half of that on goofy looking shoes and tank tops
