This seems like a pretty big deal. It finally provides an opportunity, for Shaw customers, to watch Flames game on the go via a mobile device.

So with the telus version of this, your device must be on your home wifi network for sports net. Is shaw the same? Or is cellular allowed?

Wow, that is awesome news. I've been wondering how long it would take for this to happen - hopefully TSN follows soon.

Works on any network and not just your home WiFi. I'm sure it pulls a lot of data though so I won't be streaming unless I'm on WiFi someplace. Luckily Shaw has a pretty extensive WiFi network.

No doubt about it, this is fantastic. Tried it out a bit today with the football and baseball game on Snet, in addition to the Flames game.

I tried the TSN app last night but it only had access for Bell customers. Shaw wasn't activated yet. I deleted the app for now.

I wonder if this will work while traveling out of region, or out of country. Would the regional Flames games be blocked if I am physically in Toronto for a few days, but my Shaw cable account is a Calgary one?
I have a Slingbox, which is awesome because I can also record games and watch them later while away, but I am just curious as to whether the geoblocking is done at the account level, or the location level.

In my day, we were lucky to watch the Flames once per year on our black and white TV, when they visited Toronto on a Saturday night, and we liked it!

I have a slingbox too and would totally get rid of it if I could use the Shaw Go app while travelling.

Worked for me as well. Didn't know they had activated it until I saw this SN app update and then went to Shaw's website to see what else they had updated .... and there was TSN Go.
Just tried it right now .... works great.

You guys are right about the TSN app working now. I didn't realize that you could swipe to the left where the Bell logo was and find other providers. I typed Shaw into the search box and it brought up a message saying the service was unable but by swiping I was able to find to Shaw Go and log in.

I used the Bell TSN app on my computer and it worked for a while on Firefox. When it stopped because of third party cookies not being enabled, I switched to IE. That worked for a while until TSN redid their site and now nothing works. Luckily though the Bell TV app works for a bunch of stations including all of TSN and RSN.
