Default Calgarypuck Game Takes Writing Staff

Hey guys,

with the new season around the corner, it's time for me to start looking at the writing staff and it's roster depth as we've had some turn over.

The part I hate about this is turning down a volunteer, never feels good to say thanks for offering to help, but we've gone another way, so please understand that.

With that said, my coaching PeeWee hockey, and my real job makes it really tough to write 82 game stories and I'm going to need some help.

So if you think you have what it takes let me know and we can work out an audition of sorts and take it from there.

Thanks to those that have helped in the past, and are still helping, and all of you with interest.

DM

On a scale of one to ten, how much CDC paste is one expected to eat to be a successful CP writer?

Scale from 1 to 10 is too arbitrary. I think we need an actual volume.

Bingo - on nights when there is an overlap between the peewee hockey and the flames, just give us your peewee takes as i assume your peewee is not in a rebuilding mode.

i offer to help since i have time, unfortuately most readers of this board would likely enjoy a factual write up of the evenings action more than a write up about the game i imagined i watched. i'd also assume they are sticklers for grammer, punctuation and spelling.......

Would be my first go at an in-depth game review, but I'm definitely up for it if a spot needs to be filled.

Good time as any to step in and sincerely thank you, Bingo and others for the hard work you do. This site has been a staple for me for well over a decade now. Keeps me closer to Cowtown. Love all that you do around here and always have, mostly as a lurker.

Cheers

Have had some PMs so far ... and sent them this link if they want to write something up.

Don't care if it's a rewrite of a game last year, of tonight's game, or straight fiction, but the format is the following.

http://www.calgarypuck.com/2014/01/g...4-avalanche-3/

I'd love to have 3 main writers (2 plus me) and a bull pen as well.

Just wanted to say I've always liked the format for the game reviews you do. It's a much quicker (and interesting) read than a whole post-game article.

I did game takes for a few seasons but haven't been able to for the past two years because I honestly just haven't had the time. I still don't think I could manage a "regular rotation" spot but I'd be down with joining the bull pen...

I really liked the format you added this year with the categories for all the different types of players we have.. ie young guns, grizzled vets, retreads, whatever you called them..

Yeah the format thing is a good topic to bump ...

I've started the season attempting to write as if I honestly believe there's a crack at the playoffs, as I did last year. In January I swapped the format to a more forward looking development angle with a playoff spot scoreboard watch. I wonder if that's a move I should make earlier this year.

And had some suggest interest but no submissions yet. If anyone's interested lets get on it. You will all get tired of just me writing soon!

I haven't had the time yet, but I will send you a submission for tonight's game.
