Default GAME 15 : STAMPEDERS at Winnipeg

A win against the Blue Bombers will clinch first place in Western Division for Calgary Stampeders. The Blue Bombers on the other hand just keeps falling losing 6 games in a row. This team started really well early this season but for some reason they are hitting rock bottom now losing the last 6 games and was embarrassed by the Eskimos last week. Winnipeg then released their top RB Nic Grigsby who is currently the 4th leading rusher in the CFL this season.

Stamps had a bye last week and they usually play well after the bye week. Stamps beat the Riders the last time they played and they managed to survived the ugly 2nd half when they let the Riders come back and even tied the game.
I sure hope the Stamps do not take the struggling Blue Bombers lightly tomorrow night.

OFFENSE :

After resting the last two games, QB Bo Levi Mitchell will be back as a starter. I am sure once they clinch first place, BLM will only play sparingly for the rest of season. I am hoping to see Moniz have some playing time as well the rest of the season. RB Jon Cornish currently in 2nd leading rusher in the CFL will be back and will definitely take over Riders RB Allen as the leading rusher by the end of the game. Stamps are still going to be missing WR Jeff Fuller, SB Marquay McDaniel and probably RB Jock Sanders due to injury.

DEFENSE :

MLB Juwan Simpson will be playing his 100 CFL career game tomorrow night. Simpson who used to play as a DLineman actually beat out DE Charleston Hughes in roster spot in 2008. Then Simpson suffered an injury in the season opener which forced the Stamps to bring Hughes back. When Simpson went back from the injury he was miscast as a DE and ended up switching position to LB position.
Last game vs the Riders, our defense just collapsed letting the Riders to tie the game in the 2nd half. Once they regained the lead late in the game, defense regained their composure and stopped the Riders from coming back. DE Shawn Lemon ended the game with the QB sack.

SPECIAL TEAM :

K Rene Paredes have been struggling this season missing field goals. With BLM out of a couple of games, Stamps have to use P Rob Maver as the holder. Not sure I can blame Maver 100% on Paredes 3 missed FG last game though. Stamps decided to replace Maver as a holder and Stamps been practicing with WR Brad Sinopli as the holder this week. This is not the first time Sinopli is being used as a holder.

************************************************** ********

Game Time : Saturday, October 18th at 5:00pm at Investor Group Field in Winnipeg

Televised : TSN

GO STAMPS GO!!!!

QB Bo Levi Mitchell, RB Jon Cornish, RB Jock Sanders, DT Corey Mace will be back in the lineup tonight. Unfortunately, the SackMaster Charleston Hughes will sit another game. Stamps didn't want to rush him back.

In a perfect scenario, Bo Levi plays the first three quarters and the Stamps are leading comfortably. Tate takes over for the final quarter and the Stamps cruise to an easy victory and clinch first place. Cornish rushes for over 100 yards before exiting the game midway through the 4th quarter.

Expect to see Huff pull out BLM by the second half if the game is a blowout after the first half. It is going to be the same thing for Cornish and some of the core defensive player like Simpson and others.

Good series for Wpg QB Brian Brohm there. He looks like a keeper, poised, calm and collective QB. Mind you, Stamps D took him lightly and did not pressure him. We'll see how he'll play in the next series.

Great another guy going down. WR Brad Sinopli left the game with upper body injury. So much for Rene Paredes new holder.

Hopefully it's not too serious, Sinopoli is a versatile guy for the Stamps.

This announcer is rather excited by anything the Bombers do... Just listening to him it's hard to believe they aren't running away with this game!

Nope. Rod Black was doing the same thing when Sinopli caught the TD pass earlier.
