Default October 10, just one game!

It is the calm after and before the storm of games. It is Friday night hockey with a solo NHL game.

1700h

at

This is part one of a home-away series as these division rival
teams will play again tomorrow on Long Island. Halak and Ward
are the starting goaltenders.

The game is on in Canada and the United States through

Remember that Centre Ice is free in Canada until October 14
and in the USA until October 25.

This is not the sexiest game, but, it is nice to see the lesser watched teams in action
early in the season.

Islanders look good. Up 2-0. Boychuk with goal and an assist.

Carolina is looking simply putrid. I understand they are a bad team and are expected to be bad, bad they simply shouldn't be this bad.

They or the Coyotes will get McDavid.

There is no way Arizona should be worse than Carolina, Ottawa, Edmonton, Calgary, or Buffalo. If they end up with McDavid it will be by winning the lottery rigged in their favour so Bettman can try and prove he is right that hockey can work in the desert. I don't think that will happen because I am not a conspiracy theory type but if the Yotes end up with McDavid it will be damn suspicious.

It's gonna suck to watch a generational talent waste away in yet another city that just doesn't care.

According to the isles announcers, Nelson had the best training camp and pre season for the team

Tavares gets 3 assists in this game too. All 3 players were offensive studs in the Isles 5-3 over the Hurricanes. Sekera was the only Carolina player to get 2 points. Halak faced 24 shots in the victory.
