I've been back and forth about getting a GoPro for a while, but I think that entry level camera is exactly what I need to wade into the water.

I am interested in the entry level GoPro at that price. Heck that price is pretty close to the Chinese ripoff of the GoPro!

How long would the entry level camera record for?

I always wanted one of these for surfing, but didn't really know how I'd use it. I'm not good enough to do the arm hold, fall enough that it wouldn't last on my head... Wasn't sure about mounting on the board. For the long boards it'd be okay, but my 7'4" board I'd proably end up eating the camera one time.
Other uses I didn't do anything worthy of spending $$ to record, but if the cheap one is decent then maybe I can justify it. Or it's justification to start doing more neat things that are worth recording

We're looking at buying the Hero 3 but I might just wait for the $129 one

I haven't read the specs for the entry level, but a very smart move by the company who eventually would be losing market share to cheaper brands. Also, I realize the 4K ad is just that, but the thing looks fantastic. How long until our phones record in 4K?

My Hero 3 just died and they offered me a discount on a new camera. The timing couldn't be better for me.
