Default What is the deal with Thanks?

Sometimes (often times) I just have no Thanks button available on the bottom right to click and thank someone's post. Is there a thanks quota? Do I have to post more to increase my thanks reserve? I pretty much thank everything that makes me laugh so i'm not very discerning.

I too am fairly promiscuous with them, and feel like I'm letting fellow posters down when their efforts go unthanked.

Yeah there's a limit per day, can't remember what it is.

There is a daily limit, I think it's near ten. Also if it's an older post you can't thank it, but I don't know how old it has to be. Anything current should be fine, but often when an old thread gets bumped you'll notice you can't thank the posts until there are newer ones.

How about a SUPER Thanks option. Where when a post is so good or funny, the thanks has a X 10 multiplier or something, that counts against your normal ration of thanks. Or you can only issue one SUPER Thanks a day? And intend of a normal Thanks, it shows up as a star or something.

I assume this option will be functional by Sunday.

K thx bye.

See, under my new 'super' system, that could be -10!

The best thing to happen to the thanks function is the arrival of user "This post is terrible".

Remember the Rep given/taken away system...?
