Default Worth it to drive to Sylvan Lake tomorrow?

My buddies and I were going to drive up to Sylvan Lake tomorrow to take in some of the Kraft Hockeyville festivities and to watch the game in a local bar.

I'm not overly familiar with how Hockeyville works. Should the town be fun for tomorrow or will it just be the game with not a lot else going on?

Good question, was thinking the same thing. How much and where can we get tickets?

In terms of getting tickets to the game itself, you can't.

The arena's capacity is only 500 so only Sylvan Lake residents were allowed to buy tickets and even that was decided by a lottery.

I'm seriously debating it as it's going to be 25 celsius. Was going to bring a buddy and watch it in a bar after hitting the water for a bit. But wondering if the bars will even put it on. I also told my buddy that there would probably be events of some sort happening. But I heard they had stuff going on last weekend. Anyone know if there's anything outside the game happening or players available for autographs?

sounds like there will be a watch party for those without tickets outside the arena: http://www.sylvanlake.ca/component/r...l?Itemid=99999

Too bad Hockey Central moved and sucks now. Forgot all about this, if anyone decides to go post in here and I'll probably make the 15 min cruise over and say hi.

My cousin was working in Lloydminster last year when Hockey Day in Canada was going on. Said it was a blast and the city was absolutely buzzing everywhere he went.

If it's a CBC promoted event then they will be damn sure to turn the volume up on hockey culture to make sure they try to remain relevant. Expect there to be lots going on with a general festive atmosphere around the lake.

I was weighing getting credentials for it when they went up last month, but for me it's more travel time than game time. Should be really cool to watch on TV, though.

I have a cottage in Sylvan Lake. I was originally going to go up and hang out there for a long weekend and have a CP meetup with potentially a live Fireside Chat. Won't be able to make it up there sadly.

I was thinking to myself that worse comes to worse we will be drinking in 25 degree weather by the lake.

But hearing that it was rocking in Lloydminster last year I'd imagine it'll be the same this year.

That was for Hockey Day though, which was designed to be a full-day party. Hockeyville might be different. Given it's a weekday game, I wouldn't count on a whole lot more than the watch party outside the arena. But hey, that still might be interesting.

Though I wasn't present, I had a bunch of family in town when Hockeyville was in Terrace, BC. There was festivities the whole week leading up and a lot on the day of (a lot of ex-players available for signing, the cup, etc)

Yes I live there....................I live at 124 Notachanceyougetmyaddress Ave.

Actually I am going to the viewing party.

Hit up the practice this morning, after awaking to see a text saying 4 tickets with my name on them had turned up.

I understand there is beer at the outside area!
