Default Wotherspoon inching closer to return

SYLVAN LAKE, AB -- Defenceman Tyler Wotherspoon will likely return to full practice within the next week, according to head coach Bob Hartley.

"He's started kind of friendly contact drills ... skating with the injured guys," Hartley said after the morning skate at the Sylvan Lake Multi-Plex. "Our medical staff should ramp him up in the next couple of days to full contact.

"If there's no setbacks, you should see him skate with the big team in, I would say, five to seven days."

Likely going to Addy to start for sure but wouldn't be surprised if he was a full time
NHLer by the end of the season

This isnt 'inching' closer to a return, this is leaps and bounds! This is fantastic!

Agreed.

He had surgery in mid-April for the dislocated shoulder (which is a re-injury from a previous injury) and possibly cleared for contact in September. That's a quick recovery. Especially as the outlook at the end of the season didn't look great.

Found this video that explains some of his injury as well as his rehab and training over the summer. Seems they focused on building strength in the repaired joints as well as in the surrounding area's to try to prevent another re-injury.
