Default Arrests made in Derek Boogaard death

Wow.

A New York TV station says several people have been arrested in connection with the death of New York Rangers enforcer Derek Boogaard.

FOX New York, citing law enforcement sources, says that former semi-pro hockey player Jordan Hart, as well as physician’s assistant Oscar Johnson, have been arrested by the Drug Enforcement Administration.

Nutty stuff here. I don't know what the charges are but it's a huge stretch to make anyone criminally responsible for an addict's overdose. I think it would be tough to establish even in a civil suit.

Imagine if the American authorities applied the same logic to the millions killed by tobacco, alcohol and obesity, not to mention guns.

Thanks for the link. I couldn't find a story that provided that info. The charges make more sense there but it's still odd to me to make it all part of an indictment that is linked directly to Boogard's death.

Like so many US indictments, there's a good measure of politics and publicity in it but I suppose it could set a good example. I don't imagine someone dealing Percocet ever thought he'd be front page news.
