Thumbs down Quebec City Cop Kills Cyclist

https://ca.news.yahoo.com/quebec-cit...113425812.html

Quote:
Witnesses told Radio-Canada that they saw the man in his 50s biking in the wrong direction and that officers in the car tried to intercept him. They said they saw the cruiser back up and trap the cyclist under the car.
Beaulieu said he saw the officers get out of the car, saw the man caught under the wheels, then get back into the patrol car and roll over the victim a second time. Other witnesses corroborated his account.
I was going to post this in the police brutality thread, but this is pretty bad and I didn't want it to get buried.

seems like a very needless death as based on the report the decesed was not waving a gun or something around.

Provincial police will also look into the fact that the patrol car and the bicycle were moved from the scene. The officers under investigation picked up the bike and put it in the trunk of their car, and later put it back at the scene.
Putting aside the recklessness and carelessness. Just fire them for being dumb.

And then charge them with criminal negligence causing death, and tampering with evidence.

Yeah, if this is indeed what happened... those cops need to spend the next 10-20 years staring at the inside of a jail cell.

OP Title is missing buzz words; unarmed, senior, homicide, evidence tampering, cover up.

In the cops defence, it was a cyclist. I have been close several times to driving over and then backing up over bike couriers downtown.

Maybe they are waiting for more evidence, or the full story to come out.
Weird, I know, but sometimes a little patience can pay off with more information.

At face value, with present information this looks awful. They are in big trouble.

pretty horrible to read, and the witness accounts of the police action and the evidence tampering is disgusting. This case will be under a pretty intense magnifying glass.

No they aren't. They're cops. When do cops ever actually get in trouble for anything?

Are you done yet? You hate cops, we got it already. Cops get into trouble all the time, they are not immune to the law like you think. It is obvious from your past posts that you hate people in authority, I wonder why that is.

Do yourself a favour, go to Westwinds "CPS headquarters" and sit in on some disciplinary hearings, they get in crap, and lose their jobs just like anyone else, followed and sometimes preceded by criminal charges by the crown.

Just because you aren't willing to look into the details doesn't mean cops don't see consequence for their actions. Some to a far greater degree than any civilian would, as it should be; given the position they are in.
