Calgary Flames Draft party this year????
Hi all,
Does anyone have any info if the team will be hosting a draft party like in previous years at Flames Central? I know draft party's are the biggest thing for some people but for me getting a chance to throw on a jersey and hang with some fans is always good.
Previous tickets were $10 and donated to charity too so that was nice.

My guess is no, since it's a non lottery pick for the first time in a while.

What actually goes on at the draft parties? Once the team drafts is it over and everyone continues drinking or leaves?

Its way cooler just to follow the draft while sitting in front of Calgarypuck getting pissed at taking Backlund instead of Angelo Esposito anyways.

Like I said, it's not really for everyone and by no means are we celebrating a fail for Nail or anything.
Last year we went, paid $10 had a great prime rib dinner and won some prizes while wearing jerseys.
For some of my married friends it was the perfect excuse to get away for a Wed or whatever it was. Last year the Flames probably had at least 500 people there.
If the team does it, great. If not we will be ok.

"We're number 15!!"
"We're right in the middle!"
Yeah....less than inspiring celebratory chants.

This would be tough to do. In an efficient manner, I would drink myself sick, then puke when the Oiler's draft.

The Flames deserve a draft party this year. pretty much the best possible result anyone could have even thought of at the start of the year.
Make the Playoffs on the backs of a Norris quality season by Gio, and amazing play by fairly young players Monahan, Brodie, Russell, and Johnny Hockey at times.
Vets proving they are still invested in playing well for the team, mainly Wideman & Hudler.
A team whos biggest problem has been overall team softness finds an edge and wins a round in the playoffs against the second most hated team.
On top of all that, The get the highest draft pick of any team that made the playoffs. Party on, this is the best 15th overall we've ever had.

Big difference between a draft party celebrating new 18-year-old teammates and a draft lottery party celebrating a last-place accomplishment with confetti.

Let's not forget the oilers had a draft lottery party in 2010.

It was at Flames central last year and they usually have it there every year.

They did. It was literally sitting in a bar with Taylor Hall and when they won the lottery there was balloons and confetti.
Now, that sounds idiotic and like I'm making it up only I'm not. That totally happened.

Yeah I searched for the video but couldn't find it. I remember it being set to nickleback because of course it was.

I'm sure every fan of every team has interest and gets excited about the draft. I see no reason why getting together with other people who share the same interest and passion is anything but normal.

Second most hated team? Hate is stronger than pity so obviously Edmonton is not number 1 so who is the most hated team?
