I don't see how the Sens are even considered this low. They didn't finish that bad last year, they only lost one player, they have a few good young players in the organization, they still have decent goaltending and one of the best defensemen in the game. I'd be surprised if they finished in the bottom 10.

They finished bottom 10 last year and are worse this year while many teams in the bottom 10 last year have improved.

In my opinion they probably finish 25th or so. Arizona, Edmonton, Carolina, Calgary, Buffalo behind them.

Why Arizona? They've been consistently a middle of the pack team, in or just out of the playoffs. I see no reason why that would change now.

Just based on their roster, I realize they have a good coach but they have been overachieving the past couple years in my opinion plus they lost one of their top scorers in vrbata.

The yotes have an amazing coach and have been over achieving and lost one of their top scorers. The Flames have a good coach, over achieved last year and lost their top scorer but people are picking them to improve...

Edmonton's acquisitions this summer on D will help them, but only a little. They didn't pick up any true top pairing guys, so there will still be struggles, especially if they don't adjust their system.

I'd rather not see them end up with Hanifin, so Ottawa lol.

I don't think either of these teams finish this low.

That's what everyone has been telling us about Edmonton for the last couple years, and yet, here we are.

Oh yea, I couldn't think of anyone significant other than Ribeiro that they lost, but Vrbata hurts. I doubt they'll be THAT bad though.

They won't make the playoffs, or even be close but I can't see them being bottom 3 in the league again. They did improve their team, as much as I hate to say it. Probably around 24th-26th is my guess.

How many years have you been saying this about the Oilers? 2? 3? 4?

Unfortunately, when you're the Edmonton Oilers, moving laterally in the standings is now considered a form of improvement. Baby steps.

They were a middle of the pack team, and though they only missed the playoffs by two points, two things work against them this year: The Coyotes got worse, and everyone in front of them got better. Arizona will move backwards, especially as I expect Nashville and Vancouver surpass them. The 12 and 22-point differences Calgary and Edmonton will have to make up might not be reasonable this year though, so I'd put the Coyotes in a battle with Winnipeg for the 11-12 spots on the conference.

Of the two teams in this run-off though, I have to go with Edmonton. The Sens still have better goaltending and defence, and are playing in a weaker conference.

Technically a plurality of people picked them to get worse. Jus' sayin'.

If I'm forced to choose from just these two teams I have to say the Sens. I honestly don't think either team will be this low. I go Sens because Oil are trying to be better, they still suck but at least they are making an effort. Their fans have been very patient and I don't think managment would settle for another crap season.

I sometimes question your knowledge of hockey.

I just can't see a team with the talent Ottawa has being that bad. They don't have massive holes like the Oilers, and I doubt the Oilers finish this low either.
