Default Best of the Rest Series: Flames Edition; Theoren Fleury

Our best of the rest series attempts to look at the career of the best player in franchise history for all thirty teams, who is not in the hall of fame. Players must be eligible for the Hall (ie inactive for 3 years).

For Calgary we looked at Theorne Fleury.

Hope you enjoy.

That just might be the least flattering picture I have ever seen of Fleury on ice.

I understand why they didn't but I sure wish they would have let him play a few more games for Calgary when he attempted the come back. I am probably just being nostalgic though. Easily one of my all time favorite players.

Pissed me off after he whined about not making the team after his try out and complained about Conroy.

Classless.

Great read, many thanks Theo was and will always be the greatest Flame ever to me.
My respect for him has grown post NHL for what he has struggled with and for what he does to combat those things , not only for himself but for all.

He had a right to whine about not being on the team, he clearly showed enough in training camp to make it.

While not eligible for selection by this article by it's restrictions. But just like to make sure his name is mentioned and not omitted

There is zero question that Kipper is the greatest Flame in franchise history

I would say there could be a question,

There are probably 5 - 6 guys you could make a case for, and Kipper is one of them, but probably not in my person top 3.

Iggy
Al
Lanny
Kipper
Theo
Joe
and a bit of a stretch because of the short career, Loob.

Probably all have a case,
for holding Franchise leads in scoring records,
putting up impressive individual seasons
and outside of Fleury having some team success in their time too.

And the fact that all I need is a first name or nickname for you to know who I mean even for the guys that left over 20 years ago proves my point.
