He was hot garbage for the Canucks. Maybe a return to the Eastern Conference will benefit him.

Big Tuna: "He will be a better version of Mason Raymond. This is a great contract. Should be able to score 20 goals this year and be a great penalty killer. His defensive game is underrated. He should help Clarkson get back on form. Everything about this signing is sunshine and roses…until he goes elsewhere obviously."

if anything, he did have good possession stats last year...which goes hand in hand with the new regime.

That's because he shoots the puck from absolutely everywhere.

Possession numbers are very valuable most of the time, but there are outliers for whom they're not really indicative of their actual play and Booth is one of them. There's a reason that he just finished his 5th consecutive season with a sub 7% on-ice shooting percentage (league average for forwards is about 8.5% and for top 6 players it's more like 9%).

That's definitely the Booth I remember from watching as a Canuck. Hope he can do better going to my team and rejoining the east.

Decent, very low-risk signing. The Leafs have rebuilt their bottpm 2 lines very well this offseason.

Comedy is always some form of exaggeration.

in the last 3 seasons, Booth has:

26 G, 26 A, 52 P (total, not per year)

72 games lost to injury.

Yes, he has more missed games than points over the last 3 seasons.

Good low-risk signing

I think as a 3rd liner for 1.1m he's a great bargain signing

injuries obviously a concern but improves the Leafs

I am curious what left leaning environmentalist types in Toronto think of bear baiting and trophy hunting.

In the most intense media market outside of Montreal, that issue will come up at some point.

This signing has "off ice distraction" written all over it

decent signing.

could be this year's raymond, or could be healthy scratch by xmas if he isn't putting up any points.
