Default HOCKEY CANADA Summer Female Skills Camp at WinSport

Has anybody had any experience with putting their kids in this or any other summer program with HC?

I am looking for some feedback as I am thinking of putting my, soon to be Atom, daughter into the Atom/Pee Wee mixed school.

She is going into her 5th year and 4th summer school so she is fine with the on ice, she is not excited about the off ice play with a bunch of boys...this is why we are looking at the all girls program.

this is not really a direct commentary on the camps HC runs, but it is all i got.......my sons team has had practices twice a season for the last two years at a Hockey Canada thing at Winsport. To me the instructors were fine, and not really doing anything differently than we were doing in our regular practices.

my son is a golaie and they did not have any specific goalternder instructor there, so I was a little dissapointed for both him and I, as I was hoping to pick up something new.

to me the girls camp would be more fun for a gilr as she is spending time with peers and not having to compete with boys.

Thanks, yeah it appears we are at the crossroads lol. Up until this year it hasn't been an issue at all. In fact it was so not an issue I thought it would be ok for Atom but......

If she is a tougher girl, I would suggest keeping her with boys as long as possible. It will make her into a more aggressive hockey player and will give her an edge when she does transfer to all-girls hockey.

You should be a comedian.

Don't understand the Francis reference but I'm sure its hilarious.

^ i'd guess the Francis reference was a bit of the Tip of the Hat to the Psycho character in Stripes
