Default Property Management Companies Calgary

I've personally managed a few of my apartments but work has really taken my time and am looking for a reliable property management company to handle all affairs. I know of "Hopestreet.ca" thanks to the numerous ads on Fan960 but maybe the very knowledgable-experianced crowd of CP can also provide advice... Thank You

Generally speaking, if you have to advertise during a busy period (when business should be booming), are you that good? Here's a few reviews, read into them what you wish. http://www.yelp.ca/biz/hope-street-r...corp-calgary-2

As a past renter of a hopestreet property up until last year, every time I had to deal with them it was always a pain. I didn't get the sense they were an experienced company. Every simple request or question never was able to be answered quickly, or at all.

Well the guy who owns Hopestreet registered here 3 years ago under an anonymous name pretending to be a Lawyer and a property owner to give a bad report about a competitor and promote his own company.

Doesn't make them a bad property manager, but not a great thing to do IMO.

Our last condo we rented was through Residential Leasing. They were pretty good from a renters point of view.

Well, just relaying my experience that Hopestreet also didn't seem to have time for upkeep and tenant issues. They didn't even have keys to access the property for a long period of time.

Thread bump - There was a few options to pick from -

Wondering about any sort of "Exceptional Experiences" out there with property management companies in Calgary. We will be leaving 4 units in the hands of a property manager as my wife and I go to Europe for a 2 yr work placement. I have been dealing with our own management for 3-4 years now. I will have all the tenants in place and just want a more hassle free experience while we are away for two years. If someone one has had an exceptional experience and wouldn't mind sharing their rates, it would be much appreciated. I am going to interview a couple and have to decide by mid Sept/Oct.

If you don't want to share the rates you pay publicly please feel free to PM me.

Boswell Krieger is/was really good previously. I assume they are still good but I haven't worked with them in 5 years and Jean has since retired.

They specialized in working with engineers and Geoscientists.

Boswell Krieger was the property management company that our landlord used. From a tenant point of view, they were very prompt at getting maintenance issues taken care. We'd call about something, and almost always they'd have someone out to fix it that day or the next day. No complaints.

When we rented our unit, Jean was just about to retire, and Eric Smith and (I presume...) his wife were taking over. Their lease forms have, shall we say, improved substantially from the landlord's point of view since the change-over.

ETA: The firm did seem to have a lot of experience renting properties whose owners are on expat assignments to other expats.
