Icon24 WTH? Bowman Re-signs Carbomb, in Chi?

We Blackhawk fans are scratching our collective heads in wonder. Stanbo needs to trim $2 million from the cap-hit by Tuesday, and we see THIS?

http://sports.yahoo.com/blogs/nhl-pu...154014525.html

Carbomb gained almost NO fans (and even less playing time!) his last tenure with the 'Hawks. So now the speculation is that Stanbo is going to make some IDIOT move and dump some youngsters with up-side, like Morin, along with Leddy besides one of Versteeg, Oduya or Rozival, to make the numbers work, and Carbomb gets a bottom 6 forward slot that would have been better used with Morin or a kid from the Rock, (Nordstrom, Regin, TT, et. al.)

Simply put, this signing makes ABSOLUTELY NO SENSE to any of the 'Hawk fans I've chatted with.

So even allegedly well run franchises make inexplicable moves sometimes!

Carbomb = Dan Carcillo for those wondering.

Yeah, I don't get that at all. Be different if they had lots of cap space to burn, and even then I wouldn't be a fan.

Really hope the Flames can somehow snag Leddy out of there, even if they have to take a crappy contract along with him.

Well, at least it helps them meet their quota of players who actually have interesting nicknames.

Admit it, folks. You'd buy PPV tickets to see a grudge match between Big Ern (protector of Johnny Hockey) and the Carbomb.

(Especially if it takes place in an octagon and not on a hockey rink. But that's another story.)

I brought it up here, because the 'Hawks are going to have to move a significant guy to get under the cap...and you guys in Cal have the Cap space to make a play...

(also, I respect the opinion of many Flame fans here, and I wondered what a different fanbase viewpoint on this move would be)

I said it in the other thread. We're going to pick up Leddy but we'll have to take Versteeg and Carcillo is just replaceing him in the lineup.

Versteeg would make we wanna puke. Can't stand that guy since he winded up for a slapshot on a wide open net 4-5 years ago against the flames.

Leddy was taken in the draft with a pick we traded away if I remember correctly.

To the Hawks fan, who's going to deter Bieksa from acting like a punk when the Hawks play the Nucks? Who's going to stop him from taking liberties against Kane and Toews?

Serious question. Isn't that why you need a guy like Carcillo?

Their Deadly powerplay? Or more likely, Bickell.

Carcillo isn't much of anything to a team. He can't really play hockey and he doesn't fight well. He's just an idiot.

Must be early, I thought Bowman resigned because of a carbomb threat in Chicago.

They aren't trading Versteeg as he's there at a bargain price (FLA paying most of his salary).

Morin has played well in camp and rightly earned a bottom 6 spot. I actually like that scumbag Carcillo, but Morin at this stage is a more valuable asset & better player. They'd be insane to risk losing him to waivers.

No, his pick was traded from CLB to NYI to MIN. Then MIN traded him to CHI in the Barker trade.
