Default Post Your Desktop?

I don't know if this has been done here previously, or if there is a thread somewhere on it...but, here we go.

If you don't know how to make an image of your desktop, just follow these intructions, it's real easy.

1) Minimize any fullscreen windows you have running so we can see part of or all of your desktop background.
2) Press the "PrtSc" (Print Screen) button (probably located on the top right area of your keyboard). Don't be afraid, you won't print anything.
3) Go to Start > Programs > Accessories > MSPaint.exe or Paint.exe
4) Click on the edit tab at the top left, then click 'Paste'. A picture of your desktop should suddenly appear.
5) Go to File > Save As > and then save it wherever you want to save it, but save it as a .JPG
6) From there, upload it somewhere, or email it to flash.walken at gmail.com and I'll upload it for you.

Mine Can Be Found Here, hotlinked cause of it's size.

Flash - you are apparently downloading pr0n, are on some kind of sex-change mIRC channel, and your computer is made up of the harvested organs of Flames players.

(well...that IS my desktop)

Hahaha.

I was trying to set up a few little funny things to pick up in the image. For instance the flames clock in the bottom right, downloaded some random image torrents (hottest CG babes, celebrity babes, butt pirates of the caribean) but I couldn't time them right. Damn unreliable torrents.

And I screwed up the song.

It was supposed to be we didn't start the fire.

Btw like your setup. My only regret about being on a widescreen laptop is my max resolution is 1200x800 60hz. Really wish I had a nice dual 19 inch monitor setup, but alas, mobility (bathroom ) won out.

Next purchase: raided-Terabyte with HD capture card, for the playoffs.

It's good to know your laptop is most cherished for usage in the can.
I had a cheap capture card and recorded some very low quality stuff last playoffs, not worth making mpeg-2 recordings when you are going off a grainy cable connection.

Thanks

This is a pic I took in a place called 'Bol, Croatia' this past summer. Absolute heaven on earth.

There's no place on earth that looks the same as Croatia. I went there this summer and completely fell in love, recognized where the picture was taken immidiately. Great photo.

Also, to the person who asked if I run linux, no, not right now.

The Cobra you saw at the top is just an icon for IRC. It's actually an anaconda, the script it's from is called anaconda 4.22. I use Object dock and yahoo widgets to customize my layout, then remove the windows task bar, though I can still use the start menu by presing the windows key. I don't have to often, but if there's a failure of say, konfabulator, I can quickly reopen it. Same for quick paint issues. I increased the size of the object dock so you can see it clearly, but it basically replicates the OSX bar, just not as well. Again, more transparent than it normally would be. Flames clock now front and centre.

On the right is my menu's. Not usually where I keep them, but put there so you can see them clearly. Usually more transparent as well, but same thing.

Second picture is with all the menus, on the right, collapsed. Top right corner, floating there.

For sure, that's the desktop I used before the olympic break.

Great for me cause i use light coloured fonts.

Anthony, that's a pretty dope desktop you made, I was wondering if you had any highres flames group pics, or pics of regehr/warrener/phaneuf (boner for defensemen)? I know a lot of them you've paid for, so I respect that, not for reproduction or editing digitally, I just like having JUST the photograph as a background. Don't know if this violates CP rules or anything, so if so, edit accordingly.

As far as where to find themes, http://www.wincustomize.com/ is a good place to start for any windows customizations. A lot of 'themes' require other applications to run, such as windowblinds. There are ways to get around this though. If it seems like a bit much and you just feel like changing your background some cool picture, http://www.digitalblasphemy.com/ is a good place to go.

Other customizations and skins for a variety of applications can be found at http://www.deviantart.com/ .

What kind of affect does running a program like windowblinds have on your computer, I imagine it makes it run a bit sluggish but is it really noticeable?
