Default I need help. Wifi booster/access point?

Trivia question time!!

I work in a metal Atco trailer. It's also situated 20 feet away from a 200 foot cell phone type tower.

The wifi works great all over the large area I'm working at...except for when I'm inside my trailer. Works great when my laptop is at the window, but that's not feasible. I'm not sure if that's because I'm in the metal trailer or because I'm so close to the cell tower.

I'm pretty green at this stuff. Is there an item that I can buy to boost my signal while inside? Something, for example, that I could plug into my laptop USB and then have another antennae type receiver in the window? (and still inside)

Side note: I do not have access to the router/modem

You're looking for a Wifi repeater, something like this.

This article explains the downfalls of wi-fi extenders and repeaters but, unless you can actually hardwire your repeater to the network, this is probably still your best bet.

I'm in an ATCO unit and our other office structure is 3 m away ( also a metal clad structure). I got one of these

It didn't work very well from the wall outlet. Performance improved tremendously once I plugged it into an extention cord and positioned it in a window.

Does anyone have any suggestions for an extender if I want to use my wireless in my basement if my router is upstairs?
