The 11 teams of "The Amazing Race" Season 24 All-Stars Edition were selected from the past eight seasons of the race competition series' last ten seasons. Seasons 12, 13, 17 and 19 were not included.

According to CBS, the 11 teams of "Amazing Race" All-Stars Edition will travel 35,000 miles or 56,000 km in four continents and nine countries including Italy, Malaysia, China and Sri Lanka. The contestants will be able to participate in various challenges throughout the course of the race including fighting gladiators and rappelling down dangerous rapids. TAR Season 24 was filmed from Nov. 16 to Dec. 6, 2013.

In the promo they say that one team doesn't make it to the starting line (or past the starting line, something like that). For those that are curious (no real spoilers other than what was reported a couple of months ago regarding teams spotted at the airport)...

Not sure what happens, but Bopper doesn't appear to actually run the race, and he is replaced by Mallory (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Mallory_Ervin) who competed on races 17 and 18 with her father. Mark and Mallory appear to be the team who actually run the race.
