Other than that, pretty "meh" with respect to this pick...but it is a 7th rnder (but I do see value left on the board).

I know it's a 7th rounder and doesn't matter, but why didn't they draft a young project and then sign Carroll after the draft?
That would seem like the more prudent course wouldn't it?

They can wait a year before seeing if hes worth a contract. (If they don't want to turn him pro this year)
