Does anyone have any information on this laptop? I am thinking of buying it used, on the face of it it looks like a great computer, but there are conflicting reports about the computer on the internet, some say it's great, others say it is a piece of crap? Any help would be appreciated.

We sold three of them to one of our key customers, and we had three go back to to various problems related to the main board (USB issues, PCI issues, USB Issues). Maybe we received a bad batch, but we ended up with a lot of hard feelings with the customer over these and ended up moving them over to Compaq.

The biggest nightmare was dealing with Toshiba itself over the issue. they were incredibly slow on the support of these devices, and in the end we almost had to eat one of these notebooks.

Hardware wise Toshiba is usually solid, and thier engineering is good, its just the one experience with the 1900 that left a really sour taste in my mouth

Currently using a Toshiba laptop right now (not sure if it's the same one), and through 8 months I've had no problems whatsoever.

My notebook. Compaq r3000 is on sale at Futureshop for $1399 this week. I know compaq totaly sucks when it comes to desktops, but i've been EXTREMELY happy with my notebook, and you know I spend alot of time on my computers it has it all! I paid $1899 for it back in February.

Mine is a little different. Mine has a P4 2.4 ghz and an ATI graphics chip. This one has an AMD and NVidia. Also it says it's 1.6 ghz but the speed of the AMD is probably no different then a 2.4 ghz P4.

Here's a link to it

Whoa, it's on sale for $1299.. That is a great price.
