CALGARY- A city-organized cyclist event called ‘CrowBomb’ has raised concerns from drivers.
The annual event sees cyclists head down Crowchild Trail during rush hour, and while they usually stick to the far right lane they’ve been known to also weave in and out of traffic on the high-speed roadway.

I can hardly wait for next eight month winter to start, so there's only 3-5 cyclists a day to worry about on our major roadways, in their own dedicated lanes. Man, keeping up with modernized cities with populations over double ours, near the equator, is really hard work. The colourful skin tight unitards cheer me up though. I imagine them tearing them off when they get to their destination, with a nicely pressed suit underneath, like Reverse Superman.
Yeah, the first time a cyclist swerved in front of me I was a little put out. The first time a cyclist slammed into the side of my car pedelling through a red light, I was done.
I don't have the patience for a cul-de-sac Bomb, let alone a Crow Bomb. Thanks for bombing our city during rush hour, cyclists. And nice marketing.
People hate on cyclists here but it's not the cyclists faults (granted this crowbomb thing is completely moronic and it's just asking for a horrible accident). In Germany there are completely separate lanes that aren't connected to the road for cyclists, the roads are also planned and organized exponentially more logically there and you can get around large cities with much more ease with more traffic.
Crowbombing better not be an attempt to get a critical mass type rally going.
I recall being on vacation in norcal with the parents in the 90s during a critical mass protest. The traffic snarls associated with the protests are horrible. Even as a (wannabe) cyclist, I wouldn't wish that on any city.
Stunts like this make it really hard to find the middle ground in the Calgary Cycle Debate.
It's basically the equivalent of a child holding their finger 1 inch away from someone's face while declaring "I'm not touching you! You can't do anything! I'm not touching you!"
More bike usage may or may not be a good thing for the city, I honestly don't know either way. But I do know trolling/antagonizing the current road users is not the right way to convince the public at large that... actually what are these clowns trying to convince the public of anyway?
Anyways, hope each one of these participants get stunting tickets.
