For me it's gotta be Giroux. Without him the Flyers are a dumpster team.

Giroux as well. The Flyers turned themselves around made a year that looked hopeless into a game 7 in the playoffs against the Stanley Cup Playoff Team.

I went with Getzlaf. Combined with Perry, they did the vast majority of the Ducks' scoring this year. Not a lot of offensive support.

Since this award isnt really about the player that is most valuble to his team but more of a "most outstanding" player award then it's Crosby going away......and he had a pretty underwhelming season by his standards and still won the point race by almost 20 pts.

Yep, even though that's what the Ted Lindsay is for that seems to be how they decide on the Hart Trophy as well. So dumb.

Honestly I think Varlamov or Bishop deserve the Hart more than Crosby does, and they aren't even finalists.

The Lindsay Award is the NHLPA's MVP award. The Hart is the NHL's. There's usually a lot of overlap between the two.

IMO, this one isn't close. Crosby wins this running away.

Crosby and it isn't close.

People will try to come up with bogus reasons why it isn't him but he is by far the best player and vital to the Pens as well.

The problem is that the Hart is technically anointed as being awarded to the player that is most valuable to his team. However, this is rarely how the trophy is handed out.

MVP of the league = Crosby.

MVP to his team = Giroux.

The Ted Lindsay Award is awarded annually to the National Hockey League's most outstanding player in the regular season as judged by the members of the NHL Players Association.

There's a difference between the two. Hart Trophy should be for players that carry their team. Giroux and Bishop are the best examples of that this season.

Crosby had 32 more points than anyone on his team playing with Kunitz and Depuis/Stempniak.

The Pens have an awful bottom 6, mediocre goaltending, mediocre defense.

Crosby carried the Pens to the 2nd seed in the East. He deserves the award no matter what your definition is.

The mental gymnastics people put themselves through to find a reason to not give it to Crosby is laughable.

Crosby should win this in a landslide. It's not even close.

I went with Crosby. He earned it this year, especially after coming back from that terrible concussion.

Why? How was he the most valuable to his team? Nobody is denying that he had the best season but that's not what this trophy should be based on. Take away Crosby, and the Penguins still have one of the other best centers in the world to fall back on. The Flyers have nothing after Giroux. When he wasn't scoring in the first chunk of the season the Flyers looked like an AHL team out there.

Without Crosby, the Pens probably just barely squeak into the playoffs.

Without Giroux the Flyers might be a lottery team.

Well by this logic at least we can rule out Getzlaf

Even though they changed the rules on voting since it happened, ever since Iginla was robbed of the Hart in '02, I no longer care about this award.
