Gio should have at least had his name on the ballot.
Going with Doughty as my first choice.
If I have to choose...Weber.

Gio - the heart of a team that needed a leader and got one.

If it included Olympics and play-offs Doughty would win in a walk, but since he isn't there and it is only regular season I have Keith slightly over Weber since offense seems like such a big part of this award now.

I think weber as out of those 3, weber has the most goals and was only a minus 3 on a non playoff team

If I may be pedantic for a moment... Gio's name was on the ballot. The "finalists" named by the league are merely the top three vote getters. Gio could have finished 4th, or he could have finished 15th. We won't know until the full results come out.

I think Drew doughty would be 4th and Ryan McDonough would be 5th

Who will win? Keith.
Who should? Doughty. I voted Weber though, because somehow Doughty isn't even a finalist.

Voting was done before the playoffs started. If Doughty is even in the top ten, it's solely reputation based. He's about 35th in the league in points per game as a defenseman. He +/- on a good team isn't anything to write home about.
Not that I wouldn't want him on my team, but he rightly isn't a finalist this year.

I just can't put in a Norris vote for a minus player as Weber was so I'll take Keith over Chara.

I don't think points should even matter that much when it comes to Norris voting. And +/-? Really?
Doughty is the best defenceman in the NHL.

Weber. He's so good. More integral to his team than the other two.

This trophy sucks anyways. I just can't take it seriously when Erik Karlsson has won it and Shea Weber hasn't.

Integral to what though? Missing the playoffs every season since Suter (the real MVP of the team) was traded? By that thinking you could have Taylor Hall in the Hart discussion. You only have to look at the Wild going from out of the playoffs to into the playoffs and the Predators going from playoffs to out of the playoffs to see who was really the more valuable of the two defenseman to a winning team.

Not really a fair comparison. Weber carries the Predators now that Suter is gone. Suter is just part of a good overall team now.

The Wild were missing the playoffs annually before Suter arrived and the Predators were an annual playoff team until Suter left. It's a very fair comparison. The point is that Sutor carried the Predators and now he's carrying the Wild. Predators have been just awful since Suter left.

If Minnesota traded Suter for Weber, they would still make the playoffs and Nashville would not. Both defencemen are elite, Minnesota is just a better team.
