Which prospect has grown on you?
So much talk about Sams, a defenseman out of reach, Draisaitl, Ritchie ... was interested in what prospect has made up the most ground in your mind. From a "hope they don't draft to him" to now a "wonder if they'd regret not drafting him"?
For me its Draisaitl. Great second half, and then the Kopitar comparisons with the Kings winning the cup.

Ritchie has made the biggest jump. Size and toughness with that heavy shot is intriguing. Do not want the German kid. Seems more like Pavel Brendl than Antze Kopitar.

Agreed on Draisatl. Big centres are very hard to come by. He already has an NHL body and still lots of maturing to do yet.

Cool idea for a poll. For me it's been the resignation that ekblad is out of reach and the frantic hope that samson reinhart is there at 4. Understanding that the consolation prize may in fact be sam bennet, made me take a real hard look at him, and the flames could do much, much, worse.

Leon Draisaitl.
I actually want him more than Bennett right now.
My biggest fear is they will take Ritchie over Draisaitl.

Ehlers, I have heard from people in Halifax that at times last year he was better than Drouin and Carolina is likely to take him at 7.

Reinhart for me. I originally was more concerned it was his name and connections with the Flames that everyone (myself included) was enamoured with and wanted Bennett more than him, but since learning more about his skill and high hockey IQ, I think he's IS actually a perfect fit and really hope we end up with him.

For me, I spent all season wanting Sam Bennett. Towards the end of the year, Reinhart started winning me over and since the end of the season I've heard and read nothing but great things about Draisaitl.
Draisaitl has risen the most in my opinion, but Bennett is still the kid I want. Any one of the three, and I'm over-joyed.

I had Reinhart and Ekblad as my clear top 2 early on, wasn't that I didn't like Bennett but for me he was a clear number 3. Now he is my number 2 behind Ekblad.
Not a huge jump but the guy that has had the biggest movement up in my view.

For me Dal Colle- would be interested to see if he will play centre in junior next year, he's got the size, skill and is one of the younger players in the draft which may allow more time for him to fill out. Mostly though, it's been the adversity his family has faced which makes him appear as a guy that appreciates everything about the game.

I instantly hate whoever the oilers pick. As we get closer to the draft, I'm actually liking all the prospects more.

Nik Ritchie. I'm Hopi Calgary can make a pitch to grab a 10-15 overall if he happens to fall.

the Ritchie element in the vote is really interesting, I thought most would vote Draisaitl like me.
All the Flames talk around Ritchie driving it? The Fan interview this morning with his GM?

That's what I'm betting. The moving over to Ritchie lately has coincided with the recent comments.

I'll give a different answer every day it seems. Only one that doesn't get me excited is Ekblad

I suppose Ritchie, I remember the late season win streak we had and I thought we were going to end up 6th-7th so I did a little early. But then we went to 4th overall.

After being basically uninformed and impartial around Christmas time, its Reinhart that has really jumped to the front of the pack for me. You cant teach hockey smarts any more than size and this kid has as much or more hockey smarts than many of the elite prospects taken i the past 10-15 years as per scouts, opposing coaches, etc. I think he is almost a sure bet as a #1 C.
