How to actually delete visitor messages?

I found out the hard way that selecting visitor messages in your profile and deleting them removes the actual messages, but leaves a "This message has been deleted by AC" line.

Any way to clear those as well? They look ugly!

Can you see check boxes beside each message and a moderation dropdown at the bottom left? The forum settings only says "Can Manage Messages within Own Profile.", but I don't know if that means delete or not. If you don't see it then one of us would have to do it.

I did originally, but checking them and choosing to delete them just removed the message but left the "This message has been deleted by AC".

So now I just have 3 pages worth of that message.

Yeah wasn't sure how those worked. I removed them.
