It should, shouldn't it? Not to be a smartass but throw your sim card in there, turn it on and find out. That should give you the answer no?

Edit: never mind, I lack reading comprehension skills. I thought you'd said you already bought one.

No, he is asking the question before spending the money.

What model of iPhone? Some of the earlier ones had some frequency limitations IIRC. Does the seller list any US networks that it works on? I'd have to look, but my gut tells me an iPhone 4 that works on T-Mobile or AT&T will work for Telus, but Verizon wouldn't.

Pretty sure as long as it's unlocked and the frequency band it operates matches your cell provider, it will indeed work. I believe Telus offers all the iPhones, if the same model is there on their website, you're good to go.

It will work fine, if purchased from the Apple Store.
Just insert Canadian SIM card.

Both my wife and my iPhone 5's are from the US. We had no problems coming up here and switching it to Bell when we moved up here in Sept.

My buddy switches back and forth when he travels and he had an iphone 4, and now the 5s. He has a canadian sim card for here, and a us one for when he visits family in the US.

Can't see why it would be a problem.

Off topic question. Doesn't Telus use Verizon towers while in the US, and vice versa when a Verizon customer comes to Canada? Don't know much about how all that works and I'm just wondering.

Apologies for derailing the thread a bit

Only true if bought from the Apple Store. If bought from a carrier it would locked.

Not sure if I trust somebody who cannot spell "iPhone" correctly.

Just to clarify, my understanding is that all phones go into retailers like Best Buy as unlocked. So that the sales person doesn't have to grab from the "Telus pile", they can just take the size and colour needed. However once the phone is discounted on a contract, the carrier has Apple lock the phone to them.

Are you saying that you know for sure that isn't the case?

In Canada, they sell fully unlocked iPhones from the Apple Stores.

But in the States, when I was trying to buy my 5S, they told me they don't have fully unlocked iPhone 5S. This was during the first week of the release and they said the store might carry the fully unlocked ones later.

However, the locked ones that you buy from the Apple Store (not on a contract) is only locked in the States and you can use a sim card from any carrier as long as you're not in the States.

I have an AT&T locked (only in the States) iPhone 5S that I bought from the Apple Store in the States. I'm currently using it in Canada and I've also used it in Europe as well without any problems.

Has to be an ATT Tmobile model. Not Verizon.
