Default 2014 Mock Draft Thread

I know there's a ton of draft threads on the board already, but I'm hoping we can consolidate all the mocks into this thread for discussion and analysis.

I don't know how credible or reputable every one of these mocks are, but I'm including pretty well everything i can find just in the interest of diversity.

Bleacher Report with the rare win. Their list makes most sense to me.
(Edit: wrt top ten list)

So long story short, nobody has a clue how the top four will end up. Or at least there is no consensus. I think it's fairly even count of Reinhart, Draisaitl, and Bennett for the Flames

At least we're not alone in the Edmonton taking Draisaitl theories.

Seems like everyone is picking Ekblad to go 1 or 2. I agree and think we should try to move up to get him. If we didn't he a chance at Ekblad, every other top 5 option looks good for us

My game plan would be preventing Edmonton from getting Ekblad. If Florida doesn't pick Ekblad, we need to trade Buffalo. What would you call it, draft-blocking? I want to draft-block Edmonton.

Honestly, that's sad. Draft who's best for us, don't spend assets to affect anything Edmonton does.

Edmonton's biggest problem is their centre ice position. Not their defenders. Centres have a huge impact on all 200 feet of the ice. They may not have a superstar d-man in their ranks, but Nurse and Klefbom look like good players.

RNH + Gagner isn't going to win you anything. It's one of the worst 1-2 punches in the league.

How is it sad? If we have a chance to grab Ekblad before Edmonton does, that's not sad. What's sad is them picking in the top 3 yet again.

One player who seems to move up and down a lot is Brendan Lemeiux (Claudes son). If he could be had in the 2nd round, I think this guy would be a great pick up for this team.

Bennett and Lemeiux modelling their play after Gilmour and Senior Lemieux has me drooling for future playoff series..

Exactly what i had thought, totally amped about the idea of the flames lucking into reinhart.
So a couple things i can speculate on.
Buffalo will not draft ekblad too deep on defense me thinks.
if ekblad is gone draisaitl is more than likely going to be edmonton's choice.

soooo....it all comes down to florida chosing ekblad or reinhart.
they take ekblad and we get reinhart or maybe bennet
they take reinhart and we get draisaitl

It feels too good to be true, but i think the most likely scenario on draft day is
florida-ekblad
buffalo-bennet
edmonton-draisaitl
calgary-reinhart

Correct me if I'm wrong but last year, didn't a lot of people expect Seth Jones to go 1 or 2 and he fell to 4th for the Preds?

Honestly I'll be very surprised if that happens this year, but I still think the most likely scenario is Draisatl.

Because allowing what Edmonton is doing to have any bearing on our draft decisions is just sad. F' em, they'll ruin whoever they pick anyway.

In summary, out of the above 12 mock drafts, the flames pick:

- Bennett 5 times
- Reinhart 3 times
- Draisaitl 3 times
- Dal Colle 1 time

Note: Top four was always Ekblad, Reinhart, Draisaitl, and Bennett in all drafts except Hoffner's.

Does Reinhart fit CGY's plans to get big and truculent, when we are already adding Johnny?

If Reinhart fell to 4th and they passed on him for someone like Ritchie I would not be impressed.
