Default Broken LG plasma advice

I have a 2012 LG 50PM6700 tv which just stopped working. Google seems to indicate it is the capacitors? Possibly something to do with the power board?

Does anyone have any advice as to what else it might be.

Also, can someone suggest a tv repair place that will not hose me on the repair?

Thanks.

Not sure would the problem would be, I know Futureshop, London Drugs, and the rest use http://www.bestech.ca/ here in Calgary for their repairs.

Same problem with my Panny. I'd hate to replace it even though it gives off so much damned heat.

If it is indeed the capacitors, it's a really easy fix. Open the tv up after it has been unplugged from the wall for a little while, and see if any of the capacitors are blown. If they are, you can buy new ones and solder them in place. Cheap easy fix. I did it to my tv, and probably ten others from people who wanted them repaired.

I had a 42" Panasonic plasma stop working (flashing red power light of death). The most difficult part was determining what board was the problem, but the TV in question had a sizable history of the same problem so there was lots to find on the internet.

In the end I was able to identify the faulty board, shipped it to a guy in Washington state I found on eBay. A few weeks later the board came back, I installed it and haven't had a problem since.

i had given up on getting help. Thanks for the replies.

I ended up taking it to Bestech. They have seemed good so far. It was the Y board, I think. I am waiting for the part to arrive and the cost will be just over $300 installed. We shall see.
