it is more of a crapshoot.......otherwise guys like Datsuyk would be drafted in round 1......

So, was player development to blame or was it drafting?

Probably a combination of both to some degree, but we do focus on the drafts a lot.

My favorite bit: The whole trading down at the draft. We only "lost" one of those drafts, the Kris Chucko draft, as there was some decent picks between our original position, and our eventual position. However, you could say that with a pick like Chucko at the position we did pick him up at, was a bad choice with guys like Shultz, Green, and Bolland available. With the exception of the most recent draft, none of the picks we traded became anything at all, really. It appears that drafting down has not hurt us at all. Just bad drafting overall.
