It appears that they are staging now to take it apart piece by piece, essentially reversing the construction process. If they don't intend on removing the shelter on the c-train platform, I don't see how they could implode it.
This is what will end up on that block:

There is ZERO chance that a building that close to the LRT line ever gets imploded.

Cruised by there yesterday and was surprised they took down the old building and parking garage down so quickly.
Once they take down the Mawer, where will we buy our tailored suits?

I encountered this last issue last week. David Colona has done all my suits and shoes for ages. They moved to 6th and 6th.

This is why using your search history, email, etc. to "refine" your search results is stupid.

Likely, yes. Hover, there's that chance that a chunk will take out the catenary wire, or bend a rail.
A road could be quickly patched. A LRT line, out for a few days, at least.
There's no reason to take the risk.

Is there a chance the rail could bend?
Not on your life, my Hindu friend.

We don't implode buildings in our downtown, they are dismantled like the old Herald building, french maid, etc.

I work right across the street in the Watermark building. Looking forward to watching the dismantling, since EAP is essentially done and no fun to watch anymore.
Fun fact - Watermark has accessible outdoor terraces on a few floors. Nice to be able to pop outside from cubicle hell and watch the dismantling in the fresh air.

Have no fear. That clothing place has moved to 6th and 6th. You will still be able to buy your pleated pants.

Different building.
But they do already have a building planned for that one as well.
