Default Good Goalie School For a Beginner 7 year old

My son is wanting to be a goalie, and I would like to put him in a beginner program top see if he likes it. Anyone know of a good one for a 7 year old. A lot of programs are not until Atom.

My big is Doing the goalie camp at Sylvan lake Hockey School.

He is 8, will be second year novice next season. The difference between my boy and yours is mine already knows he is a goalie.

Camp is 4 days all goalie focused.

I think what I am saying is that whether 6, 7, 8, 9+ years, any kid may think they are a goalie but sometimes change their minds, so that being said, my kid says hes a goalie as well, but I want to be sure.

No no I get what you are saying, but my boy played the last half of this past season as a goalie, there is no maybe when it comes to him, his mind is made up.

I do know that the sylvan camp has all age groups.

I would have suggested heading over to The Goalie Shop for some quick 1-on1s with them, but unfortunately they have closed their doors.

That's what we did with our 8 year old. We just wanted to see if he had any sort of skill for the position before we invested in him playing it full time.

I don't really know of anything else out there right now unfortunately.

You could check with World Pro Goaltending and see if they have anything like that.

If you are going to send your kid to a summer camp you'll need his own gear, so you're somewhat committed at that point; unless you can find a set of equipment to use for a week that is.

For a summer camp, I highly suggest Torjager Hockey.

They have 3 camps this year and all are being run by Jeff from The Goalie Shop. Jeff has been awesome with our son and is a great goalie coach.
