Default Baltimore visit tips?

Yeah, yeah bulletproof vest etc.
Looking at a trip out east this Fall and planning on hitting Baltimore for a couple days. Anyone here have a trip tales from Baltimore? Anything must see or do? I like food and market type shopping. I'll probably do a bit of The Wire geeking as well.

You'll probably get shot.

Done aaaaand done.

I was there, but it was like 20 years ago. Go to an Orioles game if you're at all interested in that type of thing. It's a great park.

Coolest thing in Baltimore.

So overall, Baltimore is not cool.

I hear they have some roads in Baltimore that take you to a lot of places that aren't in Baltimore.

Baltimore does kinda suck, but at least it's not Ohio.

I've tried that. Lake trout is NOT good. I did have a good time tossing my burner on the street in the westside though.

Camden Yards is over 20 years old now, but it's still one of my favorite places to watch a baseball game. Definitely check out an Orioles game if the timing works out. From there, it's a short walk to the Inner Harbor, which is a nice touristy area by the water. That's probably where you'll want to find a hotel, because most of the rest of the city can be sketchy at night (and a lot of it is sketchy in the day too).

As for food, you need to eat a ton of crabs. The places at the Inner Harbor are ok, but you should make a trip to Faidley's at Lexington Market for the best crab cakes in the city. It's a rough area though, so I wouldn't walk there even though it isn't far from the touristy area.

You also should try some pit beef. The place in the outfield at Camden Yards is decent, but Chaps Pit Beef is much better and Pioneer Pit Beef is the best if you don't mind driving outside of the city.

Also, if you get seafooded out and are looking for something else around the Inner Harbor, Fogo de Chao has a location there. It's a chain, but it's still the best Brazilian churrascaria I've ever been to. The price isn't too bad at night, but you can get the same food at lunch time for half the price if you don't mind gorging yourself on steak at noon.
