Flames Free Agents
We have a few guys who are in UFA or RFA status this summer. Here are my thoughts on them. I didn't include all of the AHL guys.
Cammalleri: Think we need to re-sign him for a lot of reasons. But doubt he's back. He's the top priority in my mind.
Colbourne: Probably the top two or three priority this off season. Should get a raise.
Bouma: Top two or three priority. Should get a good raise.
Byron: Think he should be re-signed. Does nothing but good things. Fills a lot of roles. Fastest player in the organization.
Westgarth: Not a big fan. But Burke likes him so I'm guessing he's back. Doubt he gets more money.
Ortio: Should be re-signed with a raise. Thought he showed well. One of the top goalies in the AHL.
MacDonald: Think he'd be a good bridge until Ortio or Gillies are ready.
Billins: Looked okay when called up. Guessing he's re-signed to a 2-way.
Breen: I'm guessing he's re-signed to a 2-way contract because of his size alone.
Hanowski: Hard to say. He's the worst skater I've seen in the system. Not sure what they'll do with him. He's young so I'm guessing he'll get a new 2-way contract.
Galiardi: Doubt he'll be back. Can find someone younger to fill his role.
Street: He's getting up there in age and hasn't really shined when called up. Wouldn't be surprised if he's let go if they need another contract.
Cundari: Doubt he'll be back. He's just too small and not fast enough.
D Smith: Definitely not re-signed.
